Reading

One of the books I am currently reading is NT Wright’s Paul – a new perspective. The book is 8 lectures he did in Cambridge University a couple of years ago. He is definitely a “read up” for me – always challenges me and makes my brain work overtime.

In his preface he made this statement, “The church and the academy both urgently need a new generation of teachers and preachers who will give themselves totally to the delighted study of the text and allow themselves to be taken wherever it leads, to think new thoughts arising out of the text and to dare to try them out in word and deed.” WOW – can that man write! This statement is so good – may it become our prayer.

Institute Begins

What a wonderful event!!! The Psalm 19 Ministries Institute of Biblical Studies begins its 11th year tomorrow evening. That is worth celebrating – so I do.

We are offering two classes – New Testament Survey with Lauren as the teacher, and Revelation – that one I am teaching. I look forward to the maturity levels of all of us rising beyond where we have been. The Word will always bring forth a person like Jesus. Amazing!

Blessed!

I am a blessed woman! Today is Labor Day in the USA and I have the joy of getting to be with 3 of my 4 children. We will have a cook-out a bit later and enjoy the sweet fellowship. The Lord is so faithful to His promises to me.

My children are all in their 40’s and it is a joy to be their friend.

The weather has turned cool. Really nice! We will be able to have a fire in the fire-pit and will need sweat-shirts. Awesome! I love the fall season. I do not enjoy needing to rake all the leaves I need to rake, but it comes as a part of the season. So I will just set my heart to enjoy. Thankfully, my arm is healed and I will able to do what needs to be done here at home. What joy!

May the precious Lord Jesus bless your day with completed promises!

New Video – Faith’s Expectation

The video for our last Friday Fellowship lesson “Faith’s Expectation” is now on line at: http://www.psalm19ministries.org/psalm19ministries/Videos.html

Thank you to all who prayed for me last Sunday as I preached at the Church of the Resurrection. It is always a pleasure to be called upon to fill a Sunday Morning spot and a precious pleasure to preach at home. Bless you for praying.

Interesting Interview

This is very interesting from the translator of The Message. Eugene Peterson is one of the foremost Bible scholars and linguists of our day. Take 30 minutes and enjoy his take on Bible reading, etc…

Great Faithfulness!

Our Lord is faithful, but even more than that He has great faithfulness. We did have an awesome Worship Explosion in July, and I have just returned from doing a one day retreat in the Glen Falls area. Many of you prayed for Lauren and me as we were gone all week-end. I am finding much physical weakness as I begin to get back into ministry, so am needing to be very conservative in my work.

However, the one thing I see over and over again is the great faithfulness of my Lord. He is ever so patient and loving as He urges me on to minister in His name – in weakness He proves Himself strong.

We often want to see our strength prior to ministering in His name, when all He needs is our weakness given. He empowers and blesses and we know it was not us – others see that too. That is a witness beyond what we commonly acknowledge. Oh yes, He continually heals me (the arm is solid bone now – just getting total body back in strength is more of a journey than I had planned) and then gives me more to do. But I am so grateful that in my weakness – He still moves and blesses and teaches and… He is wonderful in every way.

Have a marvelous day in Him!

Fantastic – Awesome – Beginning!

We had an wonderful beginning at Worship Explosion tonight! The worship was awesome – right in the heart of the Father for about an hour, then silence – sweet – heartbeat silence. It was a most delightful and powerful time. I can’t seem to get my video on You-Tube to get attached here, but I am putting it up (I think) on Facebook. Join us!

It is not too late! For those of you near us, come on tomorrow. We begin at 9 am with coffee and light munchies – then the program begins at 9:30  with morning and afternoon sessions. It  is so good – I am amazed again at how very anointed and musically gifted this group is. The Lord’s presence is so real – come be a part.
