Tonight in the Feast course I am teaching on the Feast of Unleavened Bread. At first glance this seems simple enough with most books agreeing that leaven = sin, and we have got to get rid of that – don’t you know. Well I think the verse below give us a clue as to how we will be led tonight. I will write more tomorrow, Lord willing. In the meantime, just read the passage below in meditation and prayer.
“Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 NKJV
Thank you Iris for continuing to post. I have been pondering something else I read a couple of weeks ago and have come to the understanding that when I am unaware or in denial about sin, I need the Lord to show me how to feel remorse. Without remorse I feel no need to change, so in areas of my life where I seem unable or unwilling to turn from sin, I ask the Lord to bring the remorse necessary for me to not only recognize areas where change is necessary, but also to put feelings in my heart that will move me to want to truly be pure and holy. Godly sorrow is necessary as it says in 2 Corinthians 7:10. “Godly sorrow brings repentance”. Without it, I only have awareness. Awareness without sorrow or remorse leads nowhere or perhaps even further from the TRUTH
