For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister: And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. We have such a wonderfully, good God. He never forgets those who struggle and labor to do His work of love on this planet. To serve others is known world-wide as a high calling, but to serve one another in Christ Jesus is much more than an high calling – it is the empowerment of God through His own. He has given us all we need to minister (serve, love, care for) to one another and then turn and minister to those in the world as well. We are not adequate for such things, but praise be to God – He is more than adequate through us.
All His promises are ours through Christ and they are accomplished through faith and patience. To act on His behalf, having no hidden motive – just wanting to bless because we are blessed, is His joy to empower. The promises become real in our situations as we patiently trust Him to manifest them. Resting in Him enables us to grow and minister once again.
May we find great delight in Him as we ponder such wonderful things!
